WHERE TO STAY
For our annual girl’s trip we stayed at the iconic Raleigh Hotel on South Beach. I fell in love with this hotel the second I laid my eyes on it. It still has the original art deco charm from the 1940s-1950s. They are one of the few hotels that give you an actual key, which was awesome but cumbersome at the same time. They recommended checking in your key every time you leave the property because if you lose it, you will be charged $75. It was nice to not have to worry about it but to wait on the front desk every time took a while.
The hotel’s decor was simple black and white with lots of greenery. Our rooms were very simple, crisp white linens, cream colored floors and dark wood tables. Luckily we had connected rooms, so we were able to get ready together every night or have dance parties.
The best part is the hotel’s pool is AMAZING and the gorgeous beach with turquoise blue water was only a few feet from our hotel. Most of our time was spent on the beach because the water was so calm, clear and beautiful. A few years ago we want to Cancun but the water in Miami was 100x prettier.
WHERE TO EAT
27 Restaurant is located in a historic home in Miami that is adjacent to the most gorgeous courtyard. As you walk in, you really feel like you are in someone’s home instead of a restaurant. All of the tables, chairs and china were mismatched which I LOVED! I was boring an ordered a burger (I don’t know what I was thinking) but it was delicious. Stacey ordered the squid ink pasta which I wish I ordered. Being a good bestie, she let me try a few bites and it was to die for. Seriously, if you are in Miami order that dish. Kat and Lauren both ordered the special for the evening which was grouper in a curry broth. I was able to try a few bites of it and it was so good. Grouper was served everywhere we went. Danielle order the Malawach which was their spin on a Greek dish. We all left very full and very happy.
For us girls italian food is always our go to comfort but seeing how upscale Cecconi’s is, we knew we had to eat there. The atmosphere of Cecconi’s is very resort chic, the tree in the middle of the courtyard is covered in lights with votives hanging off the branches. I ordered the gnocchi which were cooked perfectly. Stacey and Kat ordered the eggplant parm. Lauren ordered the chicken paillard which was the size of a large plate. Danielle ordered the buffalo mozzarella pizza.
Go here for breakfast! The croissant was perfectly flaky on the outside and doughy in the middle (carbs don’t count on vacation). On a hot Miami morning an iced coffee is what you need to start your day of fun!
Rosetta Bakery
Rosetta Bakery was across the street from the Raleigh and it served by far the best iced coffee. We went back twice on our trip. Plus, could the decor be any cuter in there??
Yardbird – Southern Table & Kitchen
For our last dinner we went to Yardbird Southern Table & Kitchen. We all got some version of a fried chicken dish because when in the south, you eat fried chicken. It’s such a cool and relaxed spot to recap all of our memories and toast to many more!
Tip – Make your dinner reservations beforehand using OpenTable. It makes it easier to stay on a timeline when you know where and when dinner is every night.
WHAT TO DO
It’s simple, spend time on the beach, walk around to see the sights, EAT and dance your booty off! Miami was the best location for an ultimate girl’s trip.
